Thomas has been trading for these overpaid has-beens for years. In truth the Knicks would've gotten off the cycle a while ago if they had stuck to the original overpaid roster, since those players would've either injured or retired their way out of the League. But Isaiah actually thinks that the core of the Knicks can compete and has no problems dealing for any cap buster he sees available.
Just in this season alone he's shown his incompetence. New York signed Jerome James to a max contract, soon followed by the signing of Eddy Curry who plays the same position. Quentin Richardson gets $6 million a year and is putting up career lows. On the bench, just the bench, these are the salaries: Penny, Malik Rose, Taylor, James, Richardson, and Crawford. That's a ton of mullah. Now add Jalen Rose and we're talking about a ridiculous roster that has a chance to wind up with the worst record in the NBA.
So obviously I would condone Isaiah Thomas's firing. However he has other problems to deal with. A woman is claiming that Thomas sexually assaulted her, which might keep Thomas on a little longer. It would look very bad if he resigned or got fired without it occurring well after this incident passed. It's a shame that his time in New York hasn't worked out for Isaiah.
Soon he won't have anything to smile about, which is too bad since he's got one of the best smiles I've ever seen.
